Remote Places to Play This Summer

It’s time to start planning your summer vacation. Most people head to the beach, but your sights are set on the mountains this year. Here are six remote places to play in Europe and Africa during the warmer months—and you might just decide to return during the winter, as well.

Andorra: See the ski slopes, ride gondolas between tiny villages, relax in thermal baths, and eat in a traditional stone restaurant in Erts.

Sweden: Relax at a spa, enjoy panoramic views from a gorgeous hotel, and sip cocktails by a huge stone fireplace in Åre.

Finland: See the midnight sun, sit in a sauna, and sleep in a little log cabin in Saariselkä.
